Opened in 2019, the Scullery is a family run cookware and giftware shop in Broughty Ferry, a former fishing village at the mouth of the river Tay.
Kenny is the main man behind the counter on a daily basis, always on hand to give you the best advice about the products. My wife Nicola helps with the buying and is my second opinion on absolutely everything shop related – in fact she’s chief advisor on everything!
Having worked in retail for many years I had often thought of running my own business so when out of the blue an opportunity popped up I decided the time was right. To be honest, Covid did get in the way but we’ve weathered that storm and I’m proud of our success so far.
My wife Nicola helps me with the sourcing of the goods, choosing only items that she’d happily have in our own home. Constantly on the lookout for new products we pick up ideas from everywhere we go: holidays (especially local markets), hotels, restaurants and visits to local maker workshops.
We believe that efficiency and useabiity are the hallmarks of good cookware, so we’re focused on providing the customer with the best brands at very competitive prices.
We have also made a commitment to support and promote our local artisans, such as artists, potters and candlemakers by selling their products, many of which are handmade and some even unique to the Scullery, having been specially commissioned.
Finding what you need to perfect your culinary genius is easy at the Scullery. And if it’s a gift you need because someone else is doing the cooking, again it couldn’t be easier - you’re guaranteed to find something useful and beautiful that you won’t see on just any high street.
Should there be something you’re looking for in particular and don’t see it in store or on the website, we are always happy to try to source it for you.
